Gang member indicted for 2010, 2011 murders

YOUNGSTOWN — A member of a South Side street gang was indicted for two separate unsolved homicides today, including a December 2010 shooting that left two young boys orphans.

Frankie "Tank" Hudson, 20, was indicted for aggravated murder and aggravated robbery for the Dec. 14, 2010 killing of 44-year-old Christopher Weston at an Overland Avenue market and the Sept. 16, 2011 death of Josh Davis, 17, on Willis Avenue.

Also facing the same charges for Davis' death is Lamar Reese, 19.

Weston was working in the store for a sick friend the day he was killed. He was a U.S. Navy veteran whose wife died of a heart ailment in March of 2010. He left behind two sons, ages 8 and 12 at the time.

Davis was a marijuana dealer who was killed on his front porch when the deal went awry, said Youngstown police Chief of Detectives Mark Milstead.

Hudson is set to be sentenced Monday on several robbery counts he pleaded guilty to after he was indicted for being a part of the H Block street gang on the South Side.

Reese has been in state prison on a burglary conviction.
