Authorities arrest another Vic Boy gang member
YOUNGSTOWN — One of two remaining members of an East Side street gang indicted last week who was still at large was captured about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in a house at 1362 Dryden Ave.
Officers from the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Dontrell McCreary, 19, and also found two semiautomatic handguns when given permission to search the residence by the homeowner, reports said.
There were also eight other people inside the house and one person ran from the home when officers arrived trying to distract them, reports said. That person was caught but an officer injured his knee while running after him and an ambulance was called to take him to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
The person who ran was arrested for obstruction of justice and two other people were found to have warrants and were also taken to the Mahoning County jail along with McCreary, who police identified as either a member or associate of the Vic Boys gang. Eleven people are already in custody. A woman remains at large.
