Columbiana County fire departments get federal funds


SUMMITVILLE — The Franklin Township and North Georgetown volunteer fire departments in Columbiana County will receive federal money for equipment and vehicles.

Franklin Township, in which the village of Summitville is located, received $17,157, and North Georgetown received $34,438. The money comes from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighters Grants program. U.S. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat from Cleveland, announced the awards today.
