No charges in fatal stabbing at the University of Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Police here say no charges will be filed — for now — in the stabbing death of a college student last December.

But city authorities say the investigation is continuing.

A fight between two students in a mostly empty dormitory at the University of Toledo left one dead and the other injured during the school’s holiday break last year.

Tests later showed that 20-year-old Josiah Galat, of Mansfield, had a hallucinogenic drug in his system. Authorities say he died from multiple stab wounds.

Police and university officials said the violence was an isolated incident and that the two students knew each other.
