VexFest 9 started at 2 p.m. Sunday, and the last set finished at 2 a.m. this morning. Early in the day Hoss Jarman and Ryan Rexroad, event coordinators from Youngstown Local Music, estimated the crowd between 350 and 450. But about 8,000 people were expected to come and go at the free music venue by 2 a.m. today. Shortly after sunset Sunday, the crowd at the outdoor stage, above, had grown considerably larger.
