Champion S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 445 Mahoning Ave., has planned the following: Monday, breakfast at 10:30 a.m. ($5 for members/$6.50 for nonmembers); Tuesday and Thursday, arthritic exercises ($2) at 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday, lunch ($3) at 11:15 a.m.; Wednesday, cards from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and bingo from noon to 1:30 p.m. with 50-50 drawing for bingo; Friday, movie and popcorn or cornhole from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.; Aug. 22, fun day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with yard sale, homemade food, raffles and entertainment featuring the Andrew Sisters and the BLT Barbershop Quartet; Aug. 28, Anderson bus trip to Mountaineer, leaving at 9 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. Cost is $25, and deadline for payment is Aug. 16. $25 vouchers will be given at Mountaineer. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out to seniors who may need a friendly phone call or a visit in a nursing home or at home. Angels are also involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned the following: Sept. 5, beginning of line-dance class from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Thursday for six weeks, cost is $20, call to register; and Diabetes Support Group meeting at noon with a healthy lunch provided at 11:30 a.m., presenter will be Barbara Karlen, a registered nurse and certified diabetes specialist at Humility of Mary Health Partners, reservations are required; Sept.19, trip to Das Dutch Village Inn dinner theater. The bus will leave Niles at 10:30 a.m. and return around 4:30 p.m. The cost is $55 per person. The show is “Speakin’ Easy,” a musical comedy set in the heart of the Roaring ’20s featuring swing tunes of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and more. Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St., is forming fall leagues for cornhole, pool and Wii bowling. All Trumbull County seniors 60 and older of all skill levels are welcome.
