Milo to play at Shepherd of the Valley-Poland
On Aug. 8, Christopher Milo got to do what he most loves - play piano. He was scheduled to perform in concert at Shepherd of the Valley - Poland, located at 301 W. Western Reserve Road, at 7 p.m.
At age 5, Milo began taking piano lessons covering classical to modern styles. At age 14, he had his first professional paid performance at The Tangiers in Akron.
“I think I knew about 25 songs that I played over and over,” Milo said. He played every event and venue he could throughout high school.
After a semester at the University of Akron, Milo realized that the classroom wasn’t where he belonged. He wanted to perform.
Through his story and original piano compositions, Milo takes his audience back in time to 1992 when a back injury left him paralyzed, with no feeling from the waist down. For more than six months, he was told there was little hope. In his performance, Milo’s audience hears how a “promise” was made that enabled him to pursue his musical dreams.
The concert was free and open to the public and was co-sponsored by Crossroads Hospice. For additional information, call Shepherd of the Valley, 330-726-7110, ext. 0.
