CEO to retire
YOUNGSTOWN
Patrick W. Bevack, who as president and chief executive officer guided Home Savings and Loan Co. through a period of financial turmoil in the years after the Great Recession, announced Thursday his intent to retire sometime next year.
Bevack, who also served as president and chief exec-utive of the bank’s holding company, United Community Financial Corp., has since returned the bank to profitability and put it on stable financial ground. Bevack joined the bank in 2000, and by 2009 he was appointed to lead the company.
The United Community board has engaged the consulting firm Chartwell Parnters to begin a search for Bevack’s successor. Bevack said he plans to remain on the company’s boards after his retirement.
