Canfield swim club defeats country clubs

Neighbors | Submitted .The Canfield Swim Club 15-18 group prepared to swim during the July 17 meet at Tippecanoe Country Club.

Canfield Swim Club beat Country Club (combination of Tippecanoe, Trumbull and Avalon/Squaw Creek) July 17 at Tippecanoe Country Club. Canfield Swim Team is coached by Mike Barringer and assistants, Emily King and Ryan O’Malley.

Placing first in the medley relay was Madison Cleevely, Ally Quirk, Parker Wilkins and Kate Grdic (8 and under girls); Caden Kohout, Landon Palotsee, Gianni Marucci and Anthony Zoccali (9-10 boys); Rachel Beil, Grace Mangapora, Isabella Kelty and Lexi Saunders (11-12 girls); Matthew Peckman, Liam Martin, Jason Paris and Dante Flak (11-12 boys); Cullen Brady, Lake Bennett, Nicholas Palermo and James Dietz (13-14 boys); Abbey Karlock, Olivia Williamson, Briana O’Malley and Jamie Wellham (15-18 girls) and Jared Rothbauer, Matthew Bogen, Adam Weiss and Kyle Anderson (15-18 boys).

Top performers in the freestyle were Madison Murphy (8 and under girls), Marissa Landers (9-10 girls), Mackenzie Hammond (11-12 girls), Santino Marucci (11-12 boys), Maggie Beistel (13-4 girls), Mallory Allen (15-18 girls) and Daniel Bogen (15-18 boys).

Placing first in the 50-meter backstroke was Madison Murphy (8 and under girls), Caden Kohout (8 and under boys), Maya Marucci (9-10 girls), Gina Landers (11-12 girls), Jonathan Gant (111-12 boys), Maggie Beistel (13-14 girls), Cullen Brady (13-14 boys), Sarah Heaven (15-18 girls) and Connor Brady (15-18 boys).

In the breaststroke, taking first place was Ally Quirk (8 and under girls), Landon Palotsee (8 and under boys), Lauren Fitzgerald (9-10 girls), Ty Schaab (9-10 boys), Gina Landers (11-12 girls), Santino Marucci (11-12 boys), Lauren Kerensky (13-14 girls), Lake Bennett (13-14 boys), Sarah Heaven (15-18 girls) and Connor Brady (15-18 boys).

In the butterfly, top performers were Eva Johnson (8 and under girls), Landon Palotsee (8 and under boys), Marissa Landers (9-10 girls), Mackenzie Hammond (11-12 girls), Joe Klepec (11-12 boys), Rachel Williams (13-14 girls), Nicholas Palermo (13-14 boys), Mallory Allen (15-18 girls) and Connor Brady (15-18 boys).
