Warren girl charged in friend’s shooting death at Perkins Park

Lakeisha Bell, 19, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her friend Friday in Perkins Park.

Bell, of Williamsburg Street Northwest, is expected to be arraigned on the charges Thursday morning. She is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Police say it was Bell’s birthday party where the shooting took place. Bell was a friend of the victim, McKayla Hopkins, 18. Police are not releasing details. She was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being interviewed by detectives at the city police station.
