Williams and Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, which announced the construction of the Bluegrass Pipeline in March, will have an informational open house to answer the public’s questions about the project from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Das Dutch Village Inn, 150 State Route 14.
The pipeline will deliver mixed natural-gas liquids from producing areas in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania to petro-chemical facilities and product pipelines along the coasts of Louisiana and Texas.
Bluegrass is expected to originate in Pennsylvania, make its way through eastern Ohio and into West Virginia and Kentucky. The company has started to have open houses in all of those areas.
Petroleum company opens new office

U.S. Petroleum Exploration Inc. has opened a new office at 4137 Boardman-Canfield Road.
The company will focus on exploring for oil and gas in the Utica and Marcellus shale plays. U.S. Petroleum will conduct its search efforts for companies in the oil and gas industry.
The owners are from the Mahoning Valley and Canada, and they said they chose the Mahoning Valley because they believe it is the epicenter of the drilling industry in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Price of gasoline goes up 7 cents

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline increased 7 cents to $3.57, according to the automotive group AAA East Central.
Tuesday’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline was $3.61 per gallon. This price is 2 cents less than a week ago and a penny less than a year ago. Motorists in all but 10 states are paying less at the pump this week, with rising prices in the continental U.S. limited to a handful of Mountain, Central and Midwest states.
In Youngstown, the average price for regular-grade also was $3.57 on Tuesday — up from $3.44 one week earlier.
Huntington named the top-performing bank in nation
COLUMBUS
Huntington National Bank has been named the top-performing bank in the nation by Bank Director Magazine in its recently released scorecard issue.
The scorecard lists the top-performing publicly traded banks across the nation in three categories based on asset size. There were 289 banks participating this year.
Huntington, with assets of $56 billion, came in first in the $50-billion-and-up category, moving up to the top spot from last year when it was second in the rankings.
The scorecard issue is an annual survey of banks that measures profitability, asset quality and capitalization.
