No injuries reported in Youngstown West Side apartment fire

YOUNGSTOWN — A fire at a 2604 Tyrell Ave. apartment about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday caused $2,000 in damage.

Crews called to the West Side apartment spotted smoke coming from the dwelling and managed to confine the fire to the stove area in the kitchen.

A man in the apartment said he was trying to light a cigarette near the stove when a pan there caught on fire, reports said.

The cause is listed as unintentional. No one was injured.
