The Wolves Club of Youngstown, a nonprofit Italian-American fraternal organization, will sponsor its annual golf outing Aug. 19, again in a format of two best ball of four shamble contest.

The scholarship fundraiser, which will take place at Tippecanoe Country Club, will begin at 12:30 p.m. for lunch and registration, and play will kick off with a 2 p.m. shotgun start.

Full admission will include lunch, use of the practice facility, a buffet dinner and an open bar. Golf-related gifts, prizes and an awards ceremony will follow the competition.

Along the course, golfers will be treated to meats, cheeses, homemade wine, limoncello and Italian cookies.

Event tickets and sponsorships follow: $150 per golfer, and $700 for a Wolves Sponsorship team, which includes full admission for four golfers and a hole sponsorship. Individual hole sponsorships cost $125, and for $900, corporate sponsorships are available. To participate call Rich Russo at 330-770-6448 or 330-793-2324.

The Wolves Club awards scholarships to young people who will attend Youngstown State University, and the YSU Foundation matches the club’s fundraising efforts. This year, the joint effort allowed the awarding of nine scholarships totalling $40,000 to high school seniors.

The club also presented three scholarships totaling $7,000 to St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing with matching funds from the HMHP Foundation.
