Bank of America cutting 209 from W. Pa. call center
UPPER ST. CLAIR, Pa. (AP) — Bank of America has filed notice with the state that it will cut 209 jobs by closing a mortgage call center near Pittsburgh next month.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports today's filing involves a call center in Upper St. Clair that Bank of America took over as part of its 2008 purchase of Merrill Lynch.
Workers at the center take calls from homeowners about subprime mortgages.
More than 300 people once worked at the site. The notice says the call center will close at the end of September.
