Cops issue warrant in Fairfax shooting

YOUNGSTOWN
Police are searching for a man they say broke into a Fairfax Avenue home late July 27 and shot the home-owner.
A warrant has been issued for Donell Liggins, 24, who has a Lansdowne Boulevard address, said Detective Sgt. Tom Parry, for the charge of felonious assault.
Kevin D. Rogers, 32, was shot in the leg inside his 841 Fairfax Ave. home during a home invasion about 11:50 p.m.
Parry said Rogers knows Liggins, and when Liggins knocked on his door and Rogers opened it, Liggins pointed a gun at him.
Rogers grabbed the gun and the two struggled and it went off, hitting Rogers. Liggins ran away without being able to steal anything, Parry said.
Rogers knew who Liggins was but did not know his name, Parry said. He said it took a couple of days before Rogers was able to pick Liggins out of a photo lineup, Parry said.
Parry said officers then went to pick Liggins up but he had disappeared.
