CASA volunteers needed in Mahoning County Juvenile Court

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Juvenile Court’s court-appointed special advocate program is seeking volunteers.

The volunteers are appointed as guardians ad litem for dependent children in the court after completing 30 hours of classroom instruction from a national curriculum concerning abused and neglected children.

The volunteers agree to follow one case for one year, averaging 10 to 15 hours a month of service.

At the end of their investigation, CASA volunteers must present a written recommendation to the court as to where the child or children should live.
