Yellow Creak Theatre to feature “Notorious”
Yellow Creek Theatre in Poland will show “Notorious” on Aug. 9. The feature film stars Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman and Claude Rains.
The story is about a woman (Bergman) who is asked to spy on a group of Nazi friends in South America. Known for her drinking and apparent promiscuity, she is recruited by an agent named Devlin (Grant) to fly to Rio and insinuate herself into the household of a spy ring led by Sebastian (Rains). But how far will she have to go to ingratiate herself with them? The film, nominated for two Oscars, is considered to be an elegant expression of Hitchcock’s visual style and contains the most effective camera shots seen in film.
Movies are screened every Friday at dusk on the Rt. 224 bridge wall behind the Poland Library. The event is free; concessions are available. The complete 2013 film schedule can be viewed at www.yellowcreektheater.com. Yellow Creek Theatre is a project of Town One Streetscapes, Inc.
