Woman killed in Warren fire
First fire fatality in city in '13
Staff report
WARREN
A 41-year-old woman was killed in a fire Friday afternoon at her Parkman Road NW home.
Fire Chief Ken Nussle said Lori Wishart was found in a back room on the first floor of the 461 Parkman Road SW home by firefighters, who were called out about 1:35 p.m.
Nussle said paramedics at the scene tried to revive Wishart but they were not able to.
Nussle said the home is undergoing renovations but Wishart was still living there. He said a neighbor spotted the fire and called 911.
It only took crews about 10 minutes to put the blaze out, Nussle said.
A cause has not yet been determined, Nussle said. He said police detectives and fire investigators were examining the damage.
The fire started in the front of the home on the first floor, Nussle said.
Wishart’s death is the first fire death in the city this year.
Nussle said every year but 2007 the city has had at least one fatal fire since 2004.
