Eastlake North 1, Austintown Fitch 0

CLEVELAND

The Rangers (12-4) limited the Falcons (12-2) to just four hits and kept Fitch off the scoreboard at Progressive Field. The game was one of four games in the Cleveland Indians Charities’ High School Hardball Classic over the weekend. Alex Tromp had two hits and worked the seventh inning for a save. Jay Milo drove in the game’s lone run in the top of the fifth and also pitched two scoreless innings.

Ursuline 4, Poland 0

STRUTHERS

Sam Donko struck out seven and pitched a four-hit shutout for the Irish (13-0) at Cene Park. Mike Monalbano had two RBIs and Donko (5-0) helped his own cause with a triple.

Cardinal Mooney 10, Louisville Aquinas 0

LOUISVILLE

Drew Beck went three for five and drove in a run and Jon Saadey (3-0) pitched a two-hitter as the Cardinals shut out the Knights.

Niles 11, Salem 5

NILES

Ryan Ifft had four hits and Cody Bobbie drove in two runs for the Red Dragons. Jordan McGuire, Brooks Bezon and Brendan Webb had two hits for the Quakers.

Springfield 10, McDonald 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Joe Wrask’s three hits included a double for the Tigers (11-2). Jojo Caraballo also had three hits while Cody Pitzo and Eoghan Bees had two apiece. Bees drove in four runs while Hunter Snyder had two RBIs. For the Blue Devils (9-3), Mike Raschilla had two hits.

South Range 8, Minerva 1

BEAVER TWP.

Zach Thorpe’s two hits included a double and AJ Melmick drove in two runs for the Raiders (12-3). Greg Dunham and Bill Goodall also doubled while Ross Stoffer also had two hits. Winning pitcher Tyler Baird (1-0) struck out six and walked two. The Lions are 3-12.

Lowellville 11-9, Rootstown 0-1

STRUTHERS

Marcus Rivera pitched a three-hitter over five innings. Lowellville scored in every inning in the second game to complete a sweep. Dave Wilaj got the victory in the second game. Spiro Schialdone and Nick Micco each had two RBIs and Joe Smith had two hits in the opener. Vince Hynes had two hits for the Rockets in the second game.

Heartland Christian 9, Lisbon 6

COLUMBIANA

Kyle Burgess hit a three-run home run during a four-run fourth inning as Heartland (8-9) erased a 5-1 deficit. Burgess also had a single. Nathan Sommers earned the victory on the mound.

Crestview 6, Sebring 4

SEBRING

Andrew Batchelor, Austin Eskra and Brandon Jayne each had two hits for the Rebels in the opener. In the second game, Eskra’s three hits brought in three runs. He also was the winning pitcher. Jake Ferris contributed three hits and three RBIs while Zach Thompson hit a two-run double. Josh McGoogan and Dylan Hart each had two hits for the Rebels (11-5). For the Trojans, J. Hollback had two hits.

West Branch 7-15, Massillon 6-1

BELOIT

Dylan Greenawalt had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning of the first game. Brenden Wells had three hits while Beau Taylor and Kip DeShields had two each. Jerian Thomas drove in three runs and DeShields two. In the second game, Ryan Adams, Taylor and Chipper Tuel each had two hits. Taylor and Greenawalt doubled for the Warriors (7-9). The Tigers are 7-9.
