Eagle Award

Donald A. Duda III, son of Donald and Carla Duda of Berlin Center, will receive his Eagle Scout certification Wednesday at a ceremony at Canfield United Methodist Church. Boy Scout Troop 25 will bestow the honor.

Duda was a member of Cub Scout Pack 32 of Ellsworth for five years and attained its highest rank, Webelo, and received the Arrow of Light Award. He joined Troop 25 on March 9, 2008, also at the church. Scoutmaster is Kevin Prus Sr.

He has held troop positions of patrol leader, senior patrol leader, and quartermaster. Duda has earned 26 merit badges and special Scout awards of most active scout, Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch with six points, the fifth-year Pipestone Award, Gettysburg historical hike patch, 50-mile afloat award in canoeing, and membership in Order of the Arrow. He also participated in JLT Green Bar Training.

His Eagle Scout project involved the planning, design and construction of a mobile storage cart with a work top for the Canfield United Methodist Church preschool.

Duda is a sophomore at Western Reserve High School. He participates in cross country and track and is a member of the marching band.
