Youngstown Christian DE Dubose verbals to Kentucky

Youngstown Christian defensive end Tymere Dubose verbally committed to Kentucky, becoming the first player from the school to earn a Division I scholarship.

Dubose (6-5, 255) chose the Wildcats over offers from several schools, including Michigan State, West Virginia and Pitt. Also a standout basketball player, Dubose played his first year of high school football last fall.

"He's still raw but he's got a huge upside," said his coach, Brian Marrow. "He's going to get a lot better."

Brian's brother, Vince, is the tight ends coach at Kentucky. The Wildcats' head coach, Mark Stoops, is a Cardinal Mooney High graduate. Stoops has aggressively recruited Ohio since being hired following the 2012 season, snaring commitments from Mooney's Marcus McWilson (an incoming defensive back) and Braylon Heard (a RB transfer from Nebraska).
