Fire destroys Babcock in Hubbard, but not rekindling, chief says
Staff report
HUBBARD
An early Saturday morning fire that destroyed a building at Babcock Lumber, 6472 Mount Everett Road, S.E., was separate from a Friday fire at the same building, and not a rekindling of Friday’s blaze, according to Ron Stanish, chief of the Eagle Joint Fire District.
“This is a totally different fire,” Stanish said, adding that Friday’s blaze was completely extinguished by firefighters.
The state fire marshal lists the cause of the 4:17 a.m. Saturday Hubbard Township blaze as undetermined, and Stanish said firefighters will return to the fire scene Monday morning to investigate further.
