Some Howland residents can get free smoke detectors and gun locks

HOWLAND

Residents of the Morgandale area of Howland will be given a free smoke detector at the Morgandale Fire Station, 2180 Wilson Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

One smoke detector per household will be given out with proof of residency in Howland Township and a matching photo ID. The Howland Police Department will be giving away free gun locks as well.
