Co-chairs Jo Lynn Protopapa and Deb Fuller, with help from the school’s PTA, put on Lloyd Elementary School’s Mom’s Night Out April 10. This was the fourth and final year for this event in the current school building.

“We have had to make the event cover two days because it’s so popular,” said Protopapa. “It’s for mothers or significant others in the child’s life, like grandparents. I think it’s a nice opportunity for kids to spend time with their families and to really showcase their school. It’s so important to spend time together and this event is a really nice end to the day for both the moms and the kids.”

The Mom’s Night Out event offered many activities, including dinner, a craft and a photo booth, complete with silly accessories. Students took their parents on a tour of the halls and showed them their latest projects. Even with all the activities, parents agreed that spending time with their children was the best part of the evening.

“This is my second year attending the Mom’s Night Out event and I think it’s a wonderful event,” said Monica Kimble, a mother to a Lloyd Elementary School student. “It’s really up with the times, especially with the photo booth. We were so excited that we even brought our own props.”
