Canfield 10, Poland 9

CANFIELD

The Cardinals tied Tuesday’s game at 9 on Derek Turocy’s lead-off home run in the bottom of the seventh. Then, with one out in the seventh Carter Rhoads singled and took second on a wild pitch. With two outs, Dylan Williams drove a 1-1 pitch to left-center field for a game-winning RBI single. Canfield held a 6-2 lead after three innings, but Poland stormed back to take a 9-6 lead after four. Poland was led by Chase Knodle with three hits, and Nick Andrews and Austin Biel each had two. The Cardinals’ Alec Hammond pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Colton Crissman had two doubles and an RBI, Turocy had two hits including a homer, and Williams had three hits and two RBIs.

Youngstown Christian 20, East 7

YOUNGSTOWN

Two eight-run innings carried the Eagles to a five-inning rout of the Panthers. Kayne Brown and Bobby Houston each had two hits for Youngstown Christian, which scored eight runs in the third and fourth innings. Houston had a double.

Struthers 5, Hubbard 3

STRUTHERS

Dan Diloreto went 3 for 4 and Anthony Lariccia and Jon Mundrinich each had two hits for the Wildcats. Mundrinich drove in two runs and allowed four hits and two runs for the victory to improve to 2-2. Struthers is now 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the AAC’s American Division. Jordan Thomson went 3 for 4 for Hubbard.

Cardinal Mooney 10, Akron SV-SM 6

AKRON

Drew Delsignore went 4 for 5 and Dom Dundee and Denver Martin each added two hits and an RBI as the Cardinals outlasted the Irish in 10 innings. The teams played to a 3-3 tie after seven and each scored a run in the ninth. Then Cardinal Mooney (6-5) scored six runs in the top of the 10th. SV-SM (5-7) scored twice in the bottom of the ining, but Gino DiVincenzo got out of the inning for the victory.
