Poland man dies in truck crash

CARROLLTON

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle accident that killed a Poland man in Carroll County Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, James C. Masterson, 54, of Thalia Avenue, Poland, was driving a Freightliner Tractor Trailer truck southbound on State Route 9 at about 5:24 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control, went off the side of the road overturning the truck.

Masterson was pronounced dead a short time later at Aultman Hospital.

Alcohol is not suspected in the crash and Masterson was wearing a seatbelt.
