NPR’s ‘Don’t Tell Me’ on Tinseltown screen

BOARDMAN

National Public Radio’s popular weekly news quiz show “Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me!” will be simulcast at more than 600 movie theaters nationwide — including Tinseltown in Boardman — at 8 p.m. May 2.

Host Peter Sagal and official judge and scorekeeper Carl Kasell will lead the cinecast, which will be broadcast live from New York University. Tickets are $22 ($20 for senior citizens and students) and are available at FathomEvents.com and at the theater.

The show can be heard locally on WYSU-88.5 FM at 11 a.m. every Saturday and at 1 p.m. every Sunday. Now in its 15th season, the Peabody Award-winning “Wait Wait ... Don’t Tell Me!” has an audience of more than 3.2 million listeners weekly on nearly 630 NPR stations.

Playhouse adds online ticket-printing option

YOUNGSTOWN

Tickets for shows at the Youngstown Playhouse now can be purchased — and printed — online at the theater’s website, theyoungstownplayhouse.org. Patrons can call up a seat map, select their seats, pay for them, and print out their tickets from the website, beginning with the upcoming production of “Legally Blonde,” which opens May 10.

Lee Prosenchak, a former youth-theater member, underwrote the cost of the new ticketing option.

Tickets also can still be purchased at the box office and by phone at 330-788-8739.
