Summer Stock 2013 Season, Kent Trumbull Theater, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, auditions will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 25 and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The theater is seeking young actors for three shows. “Grandmother Tales” needs children from age 10 to 17 for various roles; performances will take place in the Student Union in June. ”Puss ‘N Boots” needs children age 8 to 17 for all roles; performances will be in July. The musical “Grease” needs actors age 14 and older; auditionees should prepare a song. “Grease” will be performed in July. For all auditions, actors should be prepared to read from a script. “Sweet Charity,SDRq directed by Michael Cavalier, New Castle Playhouse, 202 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa., auditions 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Roles available include: Lead role Charity Hope Valentine, a female (mezzo) age 26-36; Supporting roles Vittorio Vidal, male (baritone) 30-45; Nikki, female (mezzo) 30-45; Helene, female (mezzo) 23-35; Oscar Lindquist, male (baritone) 25-35; Daddy Johann Sebastian Brubeck, male (baritone) 28-48; Herman, male (tenor) 35-55; Ursula, female (spoken word) 22-35; and singers and dancers of Times Square, chorus roles for 16-60. Auditionees will be asked to read from a script and prepare a 1 minute vocal selection. Bring an accompaniment CD with no vocal track; otherwise, an accompanist will be available. Tapestries of Ohio, a vocal ensemble, is seeking an alto and tenor singer for its annual Christmas celebration, which will include pageantry, period instruments, costumes and madrigal singing. Contact Beverley 330 652-9872 by April 30 for details. Auditions will take place May 5.

“Sparky ... From Chicago,SDRq by J.E. Ballantyne Jr., Victorian Players and J&B Production Arts Services, Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, auditions at 7 p.m. May 13 and 14. The play examines the activities of Jack Ruby on the weekend of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963. The role of Jack Ruby has been cast. Roles are available for men and women between 20 and 60 years old. Auditionees should be prepared to read from a script. Rehearsals will begin in June.
