Prosecution rebuttal resumes in Arias murder trial
PHOENIX (AP) — Testimony resumes in Jodi Arias’ murder trial with the prosecution calling rebuttal witnesses ahead of closing arguments.
The defense rested last week but hopes to get the judge to allow another witness.
An ex-girlfriend of the man Arias says she killed in self-defense testified Tuesday that with her, the victim was never abusive.
Arias’ lawyers have portrayed her as a domestic violence victim. Arias says her one-time boyfriend physically abused her and that on the day he died, she feared for her life.
Authorities say she planned the attack in a jealous rage.
Arias faces a potential death sentence if convicted of first-degree murder in the June 2008 killing of Travis Alexander at his suburban Phoenix home.
Testimony continues this afternoon.
