Police probe shooting of boy, 14

City police are investigating a South Side shooting that wounded a 14-year-old boy.

According to Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ TV, the incident took place just before 9 p.m. Police say the teen was shot in the left hand in the area of East Boston Street.

Family members then took the injured boy to a nearby home on East Florida Avenue. Police also questioned individuals in the parking lot of a nearby deli.

The incident remains under investigation. The teen’s condition has not been released.
