Liberty High School evacuated for bomb threat, none found

LIBERTY

Officials evacuated the high school shortly before 10 a.m. today because of a bomb threat.

Police said an 18-year-old student has admitted to making the threat. He was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren where he is being mentally evaluated. Police said he will be charged with a felonious count of inducing panic.

Superintendent Stan Watson said a written threat was found in the bathroom Tuesday afternoon. He said police searched the school and found the threat was not credible.

Watson said the threat was made for 10 a.m. today, and the school was evacuated as a precaution.

Police said the handwritten threat matched that of the student’s school work writing.
