CORTLAND

Junior David LeMasters tossed his first no-hitter, striking out 11 and walking two, for Lakeview (4-8, 3-5 All-American Conference National). The game ended with a Girard runner trying to steal home. Chris Romano singled and drove in two runs for the Bulldogs. Ryan Leasure tossed a five-hitter for Girard (5-9, 3-4), striking out four and walking two.

Jefferson 13, Liberty 9

LIBERTY

Chris Wittenmyer and Brett Powers each had two hits and three RBIs to help the Falcons (7-3, 5-1 AAC National) beat the Leopards (5-3, 3-3). The teams combined for 20 hits, but all were singles except for a double by Jefferson’s Joe Piscsalko. Tyler Evans and Nate Derenzis each had two hits and two RBIs for Liberty.

Fitch 14, Howland 8, 8 innings

HOWLAND

Zarek Bell had four hits, including two doubles, five RBIs and scored three runs to lead Fitch, which scored six runs in the top of the eighth inning. Alex Sierra doubled, tripled and drove in two for Fitch. John-Mark Weisman singled and drove in two and Joey Shver had two hits for Howland.

Niles 8, Beaver Local 1

LISBON

Tyler Wiery had three hits and three RBIs, Justin Lopes had two hits, three RBIs and scored a run and James Tate had two hits, two runs and a RBI to lead Niles. Bryce McKenzie singled and scored for the Beavers.

Springfield 13, Lisbon 3

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Mark Schuler took a shutout into the sixth inning and Sawyer Stevens and Eoghan Bees each drove in three runs as the Tigers (9-1, 8-0 Inter Tri-County League, Tier One) won easily in six innings.

Mineral Ridge 5

MINERAL RIDGE

Mason Miller had three hits and Tyler Rothbauer three RBIs for the Raiders (10-2, 7-0 ITCL Tier One). Zach Thorpe, Dan Macinga and Bill Goodall each had two hits. Goodall drove in two runs. For the Rams, Aaron Frantz drove in two runs while Brandon Bukofchan and Mac White each had two hits.

East Palestine 5

EAST PALESTINE

Brandon Mitchell doubled to score Jeremy Fitzpatrick with the winning run. Jeremy Rentz hit a two-run double for the Bluejays (7-5, 5-3 ITCL Tier One). For the Bulldogs (5-8, 1-7), Blaze Chamberlain and Drew Wilson each had two hits.

Crestview 14, United 10

HANOVERTON

Brandon Jayne homered and drove in three runs for the Rebels (9-3, 6-2 ITCL Tier One.) Jake Ferris’ two hits included a double. Evan Nentwick also had two hits.

Columbiana 7, Leetonia 1

LEETONIA

Devin Rice’s two hits drove in four runs for the Clippers (5-5, 5-4 ITCL Tier Two). Reed Fleeson drove in two runs with two hits. Bryce Franken also had two singles. Winning pitcher Richie Fitch (2-2) struck out seven batters. The Bears are 5-9, 1-8.

West Branch 8, Salem 1

BELOIT

Jeff Vizzuso carried a no-hitter into the seventh, giving up a single to Jordan McGuire with two outs. Vizzuso struck out 10 and walked one in the one-hitter. Brenden Wells had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs for the Warriors (4-8, 3-4 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).

Southington 12, Bristol 0

BRISTOLVILLE

Jake Miller tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks and John Mazzola had two RBIs for Southington (5-9, 2-5 Northeast Athletic Conference). Bristol is 2-5, 2-4.

Mathews 7, Badger 4

VIENNA

A four-run fourth inning brought Mathews (10-2, 7-0 NAC) back from a 2-1 deficit and the Mustangs added two in the fifth. Jeremy Forsythe hit two doubles and Bryan Leipply doubled and singles for Mathews.
