The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s BusinessSFlbTraining Institute will present a session titled “Hidden Talents Diversify the Workforce” from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Covelli Centre.

The breakfast event stresses that individuals with disabilities, including those with autism-spectrum disorders, bring abilities that are often overlooked by typical methods in searching for and identifying potential employees.

Presentations will be made by Elaine Gamberale and Nancy Kropolinsky of the Mahoning County Educational Service Center, Connie Morris from the Creative Learning Workshop and Chris Filler, program director at the Ohio Center for Austim’s Lifespans Transitions Center.

Technology summit

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Williamson School of Business will host the Northeast Ohio Technology Summit on May 9.

The summit is an opportunity for businesses in the Tech Belt region to come together and talk about the latest and greatest technology and how their business can use technology to gain a competitive edge in today’s marketplace.

More than 200 business leaders and technology vendors from Ohio and Western Pennsylvania will be on hand for the event.

Sale set for facility

Miller-Holzwarth Inc., which manufactured components for armored- combat vehicles before it closed last year, will be sold at 1:30 p.m. June 6.

The move comes after a judge in Medina County Common Pleas Court approved the sale.

The sale will occur in the courtroom of Judge James Kimble at the Medina County Common Pleas Court at 93 Public Square.

Unfair-labor charges

Union organizers are filing unfair-labor practice charges claiming chefs, food-and-beverage supervisors and other officials at Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino are trying to stop some 800 workers from unionizing.

The charges being filed Thursday by Unite Here Local 57 with the National Labor Relations Board say various casino employees have made statements designed to discourage the union, and that workers are being watched.
