Youngstown

Two streets will be closed for the “Live on Lincoln” event from 10 a.m. Friday through 1 a.m. Saturday, presented by Penguin Productions and Youngstown State University Students Motivated by the Arts. Closings include Lincoln Avenue, between Fifth Avenue and Hazel Street, and Elm Street, between Lincoln and Rayen avenues. The block party is free to the public and will feature the band Nocturne from 6 to 10 p.m.

World Book Night

Leetonia

Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St., will participate in World Book Night 2013 Tuesday . Books will be given to Leetonia school district students who get their monthly food supply from St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of St. Patrick Church, 167 Main St. The books “The Phantom Tollbooth,” “Middle School – The Worst Years of My Life,” and “Salvage Bones” will be distributed at the food pantry. World Book Night is a celebration of literacy by publishers, bookstores, libraries and individuals who love books and reading. During the event, 25,000 “book givers” will each give away 20 copies of a book they have read and loved to strangers or people who may never have owned a book of their own. Victim rights vigil

The annual victim rights week vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 309 North Park Ave. Speaker will be Dan Fynes, a Cleveland probation officer. The names of victims who died in the past year because of violence will be read, and candles will be lit for each victim.
