Free books to be given to students at World Book Night Tuesday

LEETONIA

The Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St., will participate in World Book Night 2013 on Tuesday .

Books will be given to students of the Leetonia school district who get their monthly food supply from the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of St. Patrick Church, 167 Main St.

The books “The Phantom Tollbooth,” “Middle School – The Worst Years of My Life,” and “Salvage Bones” will be distributed at the food pantry.

World Book Night is a celebration of literacy by publishers, bookstores, libraries and individuals who love books and reading.

During the event, 25,000 “book givers” will each give away 20 copies of a book they have read and loved to strangers or people who may never have owned a book of their own.
