Court painters hired

YOUNGSTOWN

Mahoning County commissioners have entered into a $21,685 contract with Joseph Painting Contractors Inc. of Boardman, the lowest of three bidders, to paint the probate court offices.

Commissioner Chairwoman Carol Rimedio-Righetti said Thursday that the outside help is needed because the county employs only two painters for all of its buildings.

“Our people in maintenance are overwhelmed right now with work,” she said.

County Purchasing Director James Fortunato also noted that the court offices on the first floor of the courthouse have high ceilings, and considerable moving of furniture is required to complete the job.
