Baseball team defeats GlenOak

The Boardman boys baseball team defeated GlenOak 4-3 on April 13 at the BCB Fields of Dreams. Nico Diianni was 2-for-4 with a RBI. Joe Lendak was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. On the mound, Jake Baun had a win with five strikeouts.

Track team competes in Beaver invitational

The Glenwood girls track team placed fourth in the Beaver Local Invitational on April 12. Top performers for Glenwood were Makayla D’Eramo placing second in the 100-meter hurdles, Casey Zaitzew placing second in the 1600-meter run and third in the 800-meter run and Cassie Stitt placing second in the 400-meter dash. The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Lexus Willis, Skylar Bryant, Cassie Stitt and Aniyuh White placed second.

The Glenwood boys track team placed seventh in the invitational. Top scorer for Glenwood was Richard Fisher placing first in the high jump and long jump.

Glenwood girls take third

Boardman Glenwood girls track team finished third in a meet against AMS Blue and AMS Red on April 11. Top performers for Glenwood were Logan Mitchell placing first in the 400-meter dash and high jump and second in the 100-meter dash. Casey Zaitzew took second in the 1600-meter run and the 800-meter run. The 4x100-meter relay consisting of Lexus Willis, Skylar Bryant, Cassie Stitt and Aniyuh White

Glenwood boy places fourth

Boardman Glenwood’s boys track team opened the season with a fourth place finish in a meet against Boardman Center, AMS Red, AMS Blue and St. Nick’s on April 11 in Austintown. Top performers for Glenwood were Nathaniel Ams placing first in the 1600-meter run and Richard Fisher taking first in the high jump. Fisher also placed second in the long jump.

The 4x100-meter relay consisting of Pierre Grizzard, Matt Hillard, Ethan Himes and Noah Falleti took third place. Jose Rosado, Matt Hillard, Ethan Himes and Noah Falleti took third in the 4x200-meter relay.

Boardman baseball falls to Hudson

The Boardman baseball team lost to Hudson 9-3 on April 12 at Hudson. Eddie Crump was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Evan Croutch was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Crump suffered a loss on the mound with two strikeouts during his four innings.

Benefit golf outing set

The Brett Wilcox benefit golf outing will be July 21 at Lakeside Golf Course. Shot gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per golfer or $250 for a foursome. Cost includes coffee and doughnuts at registration, lunch, dinner and drinks. Sponsorships are available for $100 for a hole sponsor or $350 for a gold sponsor.

First place will receive $400 and second place $200. In addition, there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a 50-inch TV raffle.
