April 4
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Mathews Road woman said a co-worker used her 2002 GMC Envoy vehicle without permission.
Theft: A man noticed $200 missing from his wallet at a McClurg Road business. In addition, authorities received two similar complaints.
Arrest: Daniel L. Shank, 36, of 106 Scotland Ave., Boardman, was charged with assault and abduction after his girlfriend, of Columbiana, alleged Shank had struck her face and pushed her down during an argument and refused to allow her to leave his residence.
Criminal mischief: Someone ransacked a car in the 40 block of McClurg Road.
Theft: A woman stole a can of soda from a Shell True North gas station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Harassment: A worker for a South Avenue restaurant said his former wife has made one month’s worth of unwanted calls to him, then showed up at his place of employment in violation of a protection order.
Theft: A Prestwick Drive woman reported a $500 in-dash vehicle radio stolen.
Robbery: Michael L. Herns, 22, of 451 Sunshine Ave., Youngstown, faced an aggravated-robbery charge after an armed robbery around noon at the Golden Nugget Internet Caf , 859 E. Midlothian Blvd., from which an undisclosed sum of money was stolen then recovered. An employee fired one round at Herns as he fled on foot before police found him hiding in a nearby apartment, a report showed.
Theft: A woman reported an Xbox system, $100 worth of silverware, jewelry and coins stolen from her Charles Avenue home.
Domestic violence: Police booked 34-year-old Mathew Folkwein, 50 Romaine Ave., Boardman, after a woman alleged Folkwein had kicked her lower back as she tried to awaken him. The accuser complained of severe back pain and difficulty walking.
Theft: Timothy N. Martin, 39, of 850 N. Meridian Road, and Christopher M. Cretella, 54, of 30 Stambaugh Ave., were charged. The two Youngstown men were taken into custody after a township officer alleged having seen them steal a $500 truck tailgate in the 900 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.
April 5
Assault: A Cook Avenue man alleged his intoxicated roommate struck him several times in the face and chest, though he had no visible injuries.
Felonious assault: Authorities arrested 54-year-old Ricardo R. Wallace, 5000 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, on warrants charging felonious assault and domestic violence after a woman alleged that during an argument at the apartment, Wallace had tried to stab her head with a steak knife, resulting in a cut to her left hand and temple area.
April 6
Theft: A man at a McClurg Road business reported the theft of a set of keys and $60.
Theft: An Erskine Avenue man said his girlfriend’s wallet was missing from her vehicle.
Trespassing: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy faced a criminal-trespassing charge after a Southern Park Mall security guard reported seeing the teen on mall property in violation of a trespassing warning he had received after a Dec. 15, 2012, arrest.
Harassment: A Creston Drive woman said her former son-in-law called threatening to kidnap her grandchild.
Burglary: To a residence in the 7200 block of Trenholm Road through a rear window. Numerous medications were taken.
Thefts: A man reported $280 missing from his car while at a McClurg Road business. Also, police received a similar complaint from a Campbell man who learned that his keys had been stolen from a locker and used to unlock his vehicle.
Arrest: Police on Market Street pulled over 30-year-old Jeffrey J. Cox, 1300 Andrew Ave., Salem, who was accused of failing to appear in court to face charges of operating a vehicle impaired and child endangerment.
Domestic violence: Michael J. Mularchik, 50, of 517 Sixth St., Struthers, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument in a vehicle, Mularchik had slapped her face. A small amount of blood was on her hands and sweat shirt, police said.
Arrest: Authorities responded to a tip regarding a wanted person before taking into custody Terry Marks of 90 Sciota Ave., Boardman. The 49-year-old Marks was wanted on a felony parole-violation charge related to a domestic-violence situation.
April 7
Criminal damaging: A Bob-o-Link Drive man reported someone likely intentionally damaged a tire on his car.
Arrest: Officers responded to a vehicle crash on Ewing Road before charging 21-year-old Francisco Marselino, 792 Ewing, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired and leaving the scene of an accident.
Vandalism: Someone shattered two solar lights next to a grave stone at Lake Park Cemetery, 1459 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Drugs: Suspicious activity near Lemans Drive drew the attention of authorities, who arrested a 17-year-old Boardman boy on a felony drug-possession charge after police alleged he had two amphetamine pills under his car’s driver’s seat. Also, a township boy, 17, was cited on a charge of underage possession of tobacco.
Arrest: A vehicle check in the 7000 block of Southern Boulevard led to 39-year-old Anthony J. Tonus’ arrest. Tonus, of 302 Edgewater Pines Drive SW, Warren, was wanted on misdemeanor charges of theft and abuse of harmful intoxicants.
Drugs: A traffic stop near Firnley Avenue resulted in minor-misdemeanor citations charging Charles N.C. Colpetro, 31, of 602 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, and Ryan Lepold, 23, of 10268 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, with marijuana possession.
Inducing panic: Officers investigated a claim that a woman was lying on the ground at a Market Street gas station with the doors locked, though the report apparently proved to be unfounded.
April 8
Stolen property: An employee with J.D. Byrider Systems Inc., 7871 Market St., contacted police regarding a temporary hold on a 2006 Honda Civic that was discovered to have been stolen in Hempstead, N.Y.
April 11
Theft: Officers arrested 41-year-old Yolanda R. Winlock, 1392 Victor St., Youngstown, after a shoplifting situation at Family Dollar, 4030 Market St. Winlock also was charged with obstructing official business when, authorities said, she gave a false name, date of birth and age.
Arrest: A vehicle check on South Avenue resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Daniel P. Simerlink, 3380 Tangent St., Youngstown, on a warrant from the Trumbull County 911 center. He was accused of failing to appear in court on a charge of driving under suspension.
Theft: Paul C. Jones, 56, of 3701 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown, was charged with stealing a $35 cellphone case from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft/drug paraphenalia: Melyssa(ok) A. Patterson of 192 Blews Way and Courtney N. Carbone of 2613 Ridgewood Court, were charged. The two 20-year-old New Castle, Pa., women were accused of stealing seven video games and five game controllers from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road. Also, Carbone faced charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments when, police said, a hypodermic needle and a spoon with suspected heroin residue were in her purse.
Theft: Two bags of medical supplies were removed from a residence in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.
Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from Dunkin’ Donuts, 748 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Misuse of a credit card: A Beech Avenue woman learned her information had been used without authorization to make $500 worth of transactions with her credit card.
Theft: A $400 gold ring and $150 were taken from a car in the 40 block of McClurg Road.
Burglary: To a residence in the 900 block of Mathews Road through a rear door. Numerous items, including a $700 wristwatch, coins, jewelry, a leaf blower and an Xbox system, were stolen.
Theft: A Pinetree Lane man reported the theft of his son’s $100 bicycle.
Vehicle thefts: Three motorcycles were stolen from a garage in the 100 block of Mathews Road.
Theft: Ten sweat shirts, 16 T-shirts and three pairs of sweat pants were stolen from Lady Foot Locker in the Southern Park Mall. The loss was estimated at $1,270.
Theft: Two men in their 30s stole a Sony PlayStation 3 game console from Buy Backs, 813 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A man stole a $798 computer from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: A woman in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road reported miscellaneous clothing and $25 missing from her vehicle.
April 12
Arrest: A traffic stop on Interstate 680 led to 29-year-old Michael M. Stanton’s arrest. The Pittsburgh man was wanted on a warrant from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Portage County post charging failure to appear in court.
Theft: A 16-year-old Youngstown girl was charged in the theft of five articles of women’s clothing from Kmart.
Robbery: A Poland man at a South Avenue motel who was expecting a guest told authorities a man knocked on his door instead and struck his face several times, rendering the accuser unconscious, before stealing his credit card and $300.
Burglary: Took place in the 100 block of Maple Drive, where a laptop computer, a camera kit and other property was stolen.
Harassment: A Meadowood Circle man said his estranged wife has made unwanted calls to him.
Theft: A woman at a Southern Park Mall restaurant reported her purse and a debit card stolen.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a mobile home in the 4000 block of South Avenue through a side window.
Criminal mischief: A Meadowbrook Avenue woman alleged her son’s girlfriend damaged a yard adjacent to hers in the 300 block of Argyle Avenue.
Theft: Authorities booked Daniel A. Watkins of 764 Squirrel Hill Drive, Boardman, after saying the 19-year-old Watkins admitted having stolen seven cellphones from the YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, between Feb. 9 and 28.
April 13
Domestic violence: Brandon M. Bell, 19, of 54 Prestwick Drive, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his sister alleged Bell had punched her face during an argument. He also was issued a minor-misdemeanor citation charging marijuana possession.
Fraud: A worker for Rite Aid Pharmacy, 307 Boardman-Canfield Road, told officers a man phoned in a fake prescription for, then tried to pick up vicoprofen, an opioid commonly used to relieve severe pain.
Theft: Forty-three morphine pills were removed from a vehicle in the 60 block of Terrace Drive.
Harassment: A Boardman-Canfield Road woman said two people have made such calls to her.
Burglary: A township man told police someone broke into his room at a Market Street motel and stole numerous medications.
Trespassing: John J. Pakalnis, 43, of 113 Fairview Ave., Canfield, faced a criminal-trespassing charge after a manager with the Blue Wolf Tavern, 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported Pakalnis had returned several times to the eatery despite having been given a trespassing warning in 2011.
Theft: Ira J. Rihel, 31, of 3828 Forestridge Court, Mineral Ridge, was charged in the theft of nine DVDs valued at $205 from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Burglary: Occurred in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue via a side window. Among items stolen were two laptop computers and a keyboard.
April 14
Trespassing: An 11-year-old Boardman boy was charged with being on property in the 7300 block of Bonnie Place despite having been told to stay off.
Criminal damaging: A Shields Road woman said a man kicked and damaged a rear door to her residence.
Arrest: Authorities responded to a loud-music complaint on Tippecanoe Road, where they charged 25-year-old Michelle M. Welch, 5873 Tippecanoe, Boardman, with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. An angry Welch continually yelled and swore at police, causing a disturbance around 3 a.m., a report said.
Theft: A vehicle check in the 5200 block of Market Street led to 34-year-old Lila M. Madden’s arrest. Madden, of 2222 Lordour Ave., Youngstown was wanted on a theft charge.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 400 block of Erskine Avenue was found with a broken rear window.
Recovered property: A 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera was found in the 400 block of Meadowbrook Avenue with a damaged ignition system after an Indianola Road woman had reported the car stolen.
