Donations being accepted to create Youngstown community campus

YOUNGSGTOWN

545 Management Group Inc., a nonprofit organization, has reached an agreement with Holy Apostles Parish to buy the former Our Lady of Hungary Church property, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., for $1 plus other considerations.

The agreement is pending until it is approved by the Diocese of Youngstown.

The group plans to reinvent the property as Youngstown Heritage Center Community Campus with an Ethnicities Hall, a Youngstown History Hall and place for community activities.

Bob Barko Jr. is president and spokesman.

According to the agreement, the group needs to have funds to cover utilities, insurance and taxes at the time of the property transfer. They set the goal of $50,000 to cover those costs while restoration and improvements are ongoing. The group has set a goal of $300,000 to improve the property.

Donations are being accepted to 545 Management Group at Huntington Bank branches.
