COLUMBIANA

Springtime in Columbiana, an event of the Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau, is sponsoring its second annual birdhouse decorating contest.

Birdhouse kits are available for $5 at the Chamber of Commerce, Columbiana Inn Bed and Breakfast, Primitive Gatherings, Vivian’s and the Columbiana Antique Gallery. Entrants may create a birdhouse from scratch and enter the contest for a $5 donation to the tourism board to help fund upcoming events and activities.

Three $25 cash prizes will be awarded for the best birdhouses: child, 10 and under; teen, 11 to 17; and adult, 18 and over.

Decorated birdhouses must be dropped off at the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce by May 1 and will be on display on Main Street for judging by the public during Springtime in Columbiana May 3 and 4.

Entrants can donate the birdhouse to the tourism bureau for sale at a future tourism event or pick them up at the Chamber office between 9 a.m. and noon May 7.
