Suspect refuses mental evaluation

Suspect refuses mental evaluation

WARREN

Royce Honaker, 60, a former auto-worker from County-line Turnpike Road in Southington accused of killing his wife, Donna, last July, has refused to allow a mental-health professional evaluate him.

Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court ordered in September that the Forensic Center of Northeast Ohio in Austintown conduct a psychiatric evaluation on Honaker, but Honaker has refused to cooperate on at least two occasions.

On Tuesday, Judge Logan asked Honaker to allow the evaluation within the next two weeks or he will be forced to have him admitted to a state psychiatric hospital for evaluation there.

Police say Honaker called 911 on July 31 to say he had just killed his wife, Donna, 58. He was standing near the garage when police arrived and repeated the statement, police said. Donna Honaker died of a gunshot wound.

2 from Craig Beach plead innocent

YOUNGSTOWN

A Craig Beach village councilwoman and fired police chief entered written innocent pleas to a perjury charge through their lawyer and waived in-person arraignment appearances Tuesday before Magistrate Daniel Dascenzo of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Charged in a single-count indictment were Councilwoman Wanda S. Sabol, 45, of Warchester Avenue, Lake Milton, and former village Police Chief Joseph E. Borosky, 32, of Nottingham Avenue, Austintown.

The perjury charge alleges the defendants lied under oath in a disciplinary hearing in August 2012 when they said a dash-cam video of a traffic stop made by Borosky contained sound, when it did not.

The case is assigned to Judge James C. Evans. Both defendants are represented by Atty. John A. Regginello.
