BOOK SALES

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, is preparing for its 57th annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 24 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 25 and 26.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Altar and Rosary Society of Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 954 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, is sponsoring a spring fling bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church social hall. Cost is $5 and includes lunch and door prizes. Tickets can be purchased at the door. There also will be a raffle and 50-50 drawing. For information call 330-743-1905.

St. Nicholas Altar and Rosary Society of Christ Our Saviour Parish will have its annual card and bingo party Tuesday at St. Nicholas Great Hall, 764 Fifth St., Struthers. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the party begins at 6. A light lunch will be served. Cards, bingo, basket auction, lottery and split the pot will be available. Cost is $5. St. Patrick Altar Society will have its spring card and bingo social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church hall, 367 N. Main St., Hubbard. Cost is $5. Table prizes, door prizes, a basket auction and 50-50 raffle will be available, and a light lunch will be served.

Trumbull County Federated Democratic Women will have its annual card party from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic NE, Warren. Tickets are $7 at the door. There also will be raffles, prizes and a variety of desserts and salads. Guests should take their own table games to play. Elected officials will be introduced during the afternoon. FESTIVALS/FAIRS

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 251 S. Broadway Ave., Salem, is sponsoring a volunteer fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church education building. There will be refreshments, prizes, face painting and a basket raffle.

FLEA MARKETS

Saxon Ladies Society Branch 22 will sponsor its annual flea market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Saxon Club Ballroom, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. There will be a bake sale, and a sit-down or takeout lunch will be available after 11. It will feature chicken dumpling soup, German sausage sandwiches, hot dogs, sauerkraut, chips, soft drinks and coffee. There also will be a $1-a-bag sale at 1:30 p.m. for everything except jewelry.

FUNDRAISERS

West Side Cats will host its second annual poker run July 21 in Austintown Park and is looking for vendors. There will be three bands, motorcycle contests, food, vendors and family fun. The cost is $15 per person. For information call 330-519-5002.

GARAGE, RUMMAGE SALES

Braceville United Methodist Church, 589 Park Road, is sponsoring its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, which will be $1 day. There will be a bake sale and light lunch at noon Thursday.

Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., will have a trash or treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tools, housewares and a variety of wares will be available.

First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26 and 9 a.m. to noon April 27 ($1-a-bag day). For information call 724-983-0200.

Southington United Methodist Church, Routes 305 and 534, will have a rummage and bake sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, sponsored by the Day Circle. Lunch of homemade soup, sandwiches, drinks and desserts will be served. Carryouts are available. Bag day will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday.

Struthers Parkside Church, formerly Struthers Presbyterian Church, 110 Poland Ave., will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27. There will be toys, books, crafts, household items and more. There also will be a bake sale, light lunch, art gallery and raffle basket drawing. Drawings will be made at the end of the sale, and participants do not need to be present to win. Proceeds will go to the summer mission project of the youth group.

SALES

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will sponsor a spring trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 1 and 2 (bargain-bag day). Coffee and donuts will be available.

Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for the 44th annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green to take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21. Vendors may range from home-based businesses to art and craft merchandise to nonprofit organizations. Proceeds will benefit the community. For information call 330-506-4347.

TRIPS

Civil War Round Table is conducting a Gettysburg National Military Park Battlefield tour April 26 through 28. Cost is $10 for the services of the rangers and to buy a wreath to place at the monument of the Sixth Ohio Cavalry. Those interested need to find your own transportation to Gettysburg and reserve and pay for your hotel accommodations and food. Jewish Community Center is hosting a bus trip to Cleveland to see the musical “Guys and Dolls” on June 30. Bus will leave at 2 p.m. and return at 10 p.m. Cost for members is $70 and for nonmembers, $80. The price includes an orchestra seat and transportation. Dinner is on your own.
