A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

BOARDMAN

April 4

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Mathews Road woman said a co-worker used her 2002 GMC Envoy vehicle without permission.

Theft: A man noticed $200 missing from his wallet at a McClurg Road business. In addition, authorities received two similar complaints.

Arrest: Daniel L. Shank, 36, of 106 Scotland Ave., Boardman, was charged with assault and abduction after his girlfriend, of Columbiana, alleged Shank had struck her face and pushed her down during an argument and refused to allow her to leave his residence.

Criminal mischief: Someone ransacked a car in the 40 block of McClurg Road.

Theft: A woman stole a can of soda from a Shell True North gas station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Harassment: A worker for a South Avenue restaurant said his former wife has made one month’s worth of unwanted calls to him, then showed up at his place of employment in violation of a protection order.

Theft: A Prestwick Drive woman reported a $500 in-dash vehicle radio stolen.

Robbery: Michael L. Herns, 22, of 451 Sunshine Ave., Youngstown, faced an aggravated-robbery charge after an armed robbery around noon at the Golden Nugget Internet Caf , 859 E. Midlothian Blvd., from which an undisclosed sum of money was stolen then recovered. An employee fired one round at Herns as he fled on foot before police found him hiding in a nearby apartment, a report showed.

Theft: A woman reported an Xbox system, $100 worth of silverware, jewelry and coins stolen from her Charles Avenue home.

Domestic violence: Police booked 34-year-old Mathew Folkwein, 50 Romaine Ave., Boardman, after a woman alleged Folkwein had kicked her lower back as she tried to awaken him. The accuser complained of severe back pain and difficulty walking.

Theft: Timothy N. Martin, 39, of 850 N. Meridian Road, and Christopher M. Cretella, 54, of 30 Stambaugh Ave., were charged. The two Youngstown men were taken into custody after a township officer alleged having seen them steal a $500 truck tailgate in the 900 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.

April 5

Assault: A Cook Avenue man alleged his intoxicated roommate struck him several times in the face and chest, though he had no visible injuries.

Felonious assault: Authorities arrested 54-year-old Ricardo R. Wallace, 5000 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, on warrants charging felonious assault and domestic violence after a woman alleged that during an argument at the apartment, Wallace had tried to stab her head with a steak knife, resulting in a cut to her left hand and temple area.

April 6

Theft: A man at a McClurg Road business reported the theft of a set of keys and $60.

Theft: An Erskine Avenue man said his girlfriend’s wallet was missing from her vehicle.

Trespassing: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy faced a criminal-trespassing charge after a Southern Park Mall security guard reported seeing the teen on mall property in violation of a trespassing warning he had received after a Dec. 15, 2012, arrest.

Harassment: A Creston Drive woman said her former son-in-law called threatening to kidnap her grandchild.

Burglary: To a residence in the 7200 block of Trenholm Road through a rear window. Numerous medications were taken.

Thefts: A man reported $280 missing from his car while at a McClurg Road business. Also, police received a similar complaint from a Campbell man who learned that his keys had been stolen from a locker and used to unlock his vehicle.

Arrest: Police on Market Street pulled over 30-year-old Jeffrey J. Cox, 1300 Andrew Ave., Salem, who was accused of failing to appear in court to face charges of operating a vehicle impaired and child endangering.

Domestic violence: Michael J. Mularchik, 50, of 517 Sixth St., Struthers, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument in a vehicle, Mularchik had slapped her face. A small amount of blood was on her hands and sweat shirt, police said.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a tip regarding a wanted person before taking into custody Terry Marks of 90 Sciota Ave., Boardman. The 49-year-old Marks was wanted on a felony parole-violation charge related to a domestic-violence situation.

April 7

Criminal damaging: A Bob-o-Link Drive man reported someone likely intentionally damaged a tire on his car.

Arrest: Officers responded to a vehicle crash on Ewing Road before charging 21-year-old Francisco Marselino, 792 Ewing, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired and leaving the scene of an accident.

Vandalism: Someone shattered two solar lights next to a grave stone at Lake Park Cemetery, 1459 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Drugs: Suspicious activity near Lemans Drive drew the attention of authorities, who arrested a 17-year-old Boardman boy on a felony drug-possession charge after police alleged he had two amphetamine pills under his car’s driver’s seat. Also, a township boy, 17, was cited on a charge of underage possession of tobacco.
