Hunger strike
YOUNGSTOWN
Four inmates at the Ohio State Penitentiary are refusing to eat in protest after not being allowed to participate in sit-down interviews with the media about their cases.
Greg Curry, Siddique Abdullah Hasan, Jason Robb and Bomani Shakur, who have been housed at OSP since it opened, began refusing food Friday.
The men were involved in the 1993 Lucasville Prison riot that lasted for 11 days and claimed the lives of several people.
The prisoners list a number of reasons, legal and humanitarian, why they should be able to have sit-down interviews with the press.
