Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, open exercise and breakfast at 8 a.m., monthly membership meeting at 9:30, bingo at 10, painting class and beginner computer class at 10:15, cards and OSHIP social worker at 11:30 and advanced computer class at noon; Tuesday, open exercise at 8 a.m., Vets Helping Vets and bingo at 10, bridge club at 10:30 and line dancing at 11; Wednesday, open exercise at 8 a.m., bingo at 10, jewelry-making class at 11:30, pizza party ($3) at noon and movie matinee, “Mr. Holland’s Opus,” at 12:30 p.m.; Thursday, wood carving at 9 a.m., yoga at 9:15, S.O.S. at 9:30, intermediate computer class at 10:15, beginner crochet at 11, Bible study at noon and a la carte dinner and bingo at 5 p.m.; and Friday, tribute to veterans at 9 a.m., free lunch with canned good donation to Veterans Food Bank. Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., has planned the following: Monday, morning stretch class at 9:30 a.m., knitting and crocheting at 10 and yoga at 11; Tuesday, exercise with Jude at 9:30 a.m. and nutrition/healthy living at 10:30; Wednesday, morning stretch class at 9:30 a.m. health screenings at 10 and yoga from 3 to 4 p.m.; Thursday, exercise with Jude at 9:30 a.m. and yoga from 10:15 to 11:15; Friday, morning stretch class at 9:30 a.m. and tai chi at noon. Monday-Friday: coffee bar from 8:30 to 11 a.m., fitness rooms and computer cafe, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and adult basketball and cornhole from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wii gaming system, air hockey and pingpong also are available. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. May 8 at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1953 Niles-Cortland Road SE. Angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St., is offering a series of computer classes for all Trumbull County seniors 60+ beginning in late April. Beginner classes are $2 per session and are scheduled as follows: those with laptops are slated for Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon beginning April 24. Those without laptops (using SCOPE desktops) are scheduled for Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon beginning April 26. Also available is a class for Word, learning how to make fliers, charts, tables, etc., beginning from 2 to 4 p.m. April 23.Reservations are a must for any of the above classes.
