Nocturne to perform at free block party on Lincoln Avenue

Penguin Productions and YSU Students Motivated by the Arts will present Live on Lincoln block party featuring the band Nocturne from 6 to 10 p.m. April 26.
The event on Lincoln Avenue between Elm and Hazel streets at Youngstown State University is free and open to YSU students and the public. Tickets are not required.
Nocturne is an up-and-coming New York cover band that performs songs from an array of genres and decades, from the Jackson 5 to Lady Gaga.
Food and drink specials will be provided by Lincoln Avenue establishments, including Jimmy Johns, Inner Circle Pizza, University Pizzeria, Coyoacan, The Beat and Soleil Caf . Additional drink specials will be provided by SMARTS. A valid ID will be required for any drink purchases. Penguin Productions and YSU students will offer interactive games and activities.
Penguin Productions was established at YSU to create, promote, organize and produce student and community-oriented events. The committee consists of students looking to gain experience in the live entertainment industry and advisers who volunteer to provide students with special large-scale events. Penguin Productions has brought in national acts such as Augustana, Ludacris, Sugarland, Danity Kane, Josh Kelley, Ryan Cabrera, Matt Nathanson, Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, Wiz Khalifa and Andy Grammer.
SMARTS is a community art school that offers free classes in visual arts, music, dance, theater and creative writing for K-12 students from throughout the region while providing early teaching and learning opportunities for YSU students. Proceeds from Live on Lincoln beverage sales will benefit the SMARTS program.
