TRUMBULL COUNTY ROAD PROJECTS
Active Projects
1. Five Points Hartford Road, Hartford Township
Total cost: $1 million
Start date: April 2013; Completion date: September 2013
The bridge over Big Yankee Creek on Five Points Hartford Road will be replaced between Bushnell Cambell Road and Cadwallader Sonk Road. Five Points Hartford will be closed for 120 days with a posted detour.
2. State Route 5/82, Braceville Warren, Bazetta and Champion townships
Total cost: $7.7 million
Expected completion date: Sept. 30
State Route 5 will be have bridge decks sealed, striped and raised pavement markings will be added.
3. State Route 5, Braceville Township
Total cost: $600,000
Start date: April 2013; Completion date: August 2013
The bridge over the Mahoning River between the eastern Newton Falls corporation limit and the Ohio Turnpike will be replaced. The state route will be closed for 21 days with a posted detour.
4. State Route 7, Kinsman Township
Total cost: $400,000
Bin walls will be repaired on the state route just north of state Route 87. Traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
5. State Routes 45 and 534, Farmington and Bristol Townships
Total cost: $400,000
Start date: June 2013; Completion date: October 2013
The bridge on Route 45 north of state Route 88 and the bridge on Route 534 one mile south of 88 will both be replaced. Both state routes will be closed for 14 days with posted detours.
6. State Route 45, Village of Lordstown
Total cost: $2.3 million
Start date: April 2013; Completion date: October 2013
The bridge on the state route over the Norfolk Southern Railroad between Hallock Young Road and Salt Springs Road will be replaced.
7. State Route 45, Bloomfield Township
Total cost: $1.1 million
Start date: April 2013; Completion date: August 2013
The state route will be resurfaced between Leach Road and the Ashtabula county line. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
8. State Routes 46 and 169, Niles
Total cost: $1.8 million
Start date: March 2013; Completion date: Fall 2013
The 46/169 bridge over Mosquito Creek between Vienna Avenue and North Main Street will be replaced. The state routes will be closed for 180 days with posted detours.
9. Interstate 80, Liberty and Hubbard Townships
Total cost: $10.4 million
Start date: January 2013; Completion date: October 2013
The interstate will be resurfaced from state Route 193 to Mount Everett Road, including re-decking and widening of the bridges over Logan Way Road and Sampson Road.
10. U.S. Route 422, City of Warren, Warren Township
Total cost: $5.2 million
Expected completion date: Oct. 31, 2013
The remainder of work to be done includes replacement and widening of the eastbound side of the bridge on 422 over the Mahoning River one mile east of state Route 5/82, along with improvements to the drainage. The route will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
11. State Route 534, Mesopotamia Township
Total cost: $4.9 milllion
Start date: February 2013; Completion date: November 2013
The state route will be resurfaced from north of state Route 87 to approximately one mile south of the Ashtabula County line. The shoulders will be widened to accommodate horse-drawn vehicles, along with the 534 bridge over Garden Creek between state Route 87 and Wilcox Road and the bridge on 534 over Grapevine Creek between Wilcox and Donley roads. Route 534 will be closed for 120 days with posted detours.

12. Ohio Avenue, Village of McDonald
Estimated total cost: $500,000
Award date: May 2013; Completion date: October 2013
Ohio Avenue between Marshall Road and Olive Street will be resurfaced and drainage and curb improvements will be made.
13. Olive Street, Village of McDonald, City of Niles
Estimated total cost: $6.6 million
Award date: October 2013; Completion date: September 2014
The Olive Street bridge over the Mahoning River and railroad between Summit Avenue and Ohio Avenue will be replaced. The street is currently closed and will remain closed throughout the project.
14. West Park Avenue, Weathersfield Township
Estimated total cost: $400,000
Award date: May 2013; Completion date: October 2013
West Park will be resurfaced between Austintown Warren Road and Sharky Road. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
15. State Route 46, Mecca and Green Townships
Estimated total cost: $1.8 million
Award date: May 2013; Completion date: November 2013
The state route will be resurfaced between state Route 88 and the Ashtabula county line, also including bridge repairs, culvert replacements and drainage improvements to 11 structures on 46 between 88 and the Trumbull County line. State Route 46 will be closed for a total of 80 days, 50 for culvert replacements between state Routes 87 and 88, and 30 days for work between York Street and the Ashtabula County line.
16. U.S. Route 62, Hubbard Township
Estimated total cost: $100,000
Award date: October 2013; completion date: August 2014
Culverts will be replaced on 62 at the intersection of Fairlawn Avenue. The route will be closed for 14 days with posted detours.
17. Interstate 80, Hubbard Township
Estimated total cost: $17.7 million
Award date: December 2013; Completion date: September 2016
Two bridges will be replaced on I-80 over Mt. Everett Road, which will also be realigned. Two lanes of traffic will be open during peak traffic hours. Mount Everett will be closed throughout the project with posted detours.
18. State Route 82, City of Warren, Howland Township
Estimated total cost: $5.2 million
Award date: July 2013; Completion date: November 2013
State Route 82 will be resurfaced between state Route 5 and west of state route 46. Redecking and bridge work on six structure of 82 are also included in the project. Three-day bridge closures will occur but one lane of traffic will be open at all times throughout the project.
19. State Route 534, Newton Township
Estimated total cost: $3.8 million
The state route will be resurfaced from the Trumbull county line to Hallock Young Road. Resurfacing of U.S. 224 and Route 534 in Portage in Mahoning counties, along with work to seven bridges along 224 and 534 is also included in the project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
