Outlook: The Rebels return four letterwinners but Simione expects this to be a rebuilding season.

East Palestine

Coach: John Stephens, seventh year

Top returnee: senior — Chloe Snyder (jumps)

Top newcomers: freshmen — Haley Hall (sprints/hurdles/distance), Hannah Hall (sprints/distance), Malia Rose (sprints/hurdles), Braxton Feezle (shot put)

Outlook: The Bulldogs’ participation numbers are the highest of Stephens’ tenure, although most are underclassmen. Snyder is a three-time county high jump champion and will look to make the state meet for the second time in three years.

Mineral Ridge

Coach: Matthew Blair, second year

Top returnees: seniors — Rachel Chenoweth (hurdles), Chasity Digman (throws); junior — Kate Keleman (distance); sophomores — Alyssa Hawkins (hurdles), Alyssa Porter (throws)

Top newcomers: junior — Rosie Gleason (sprints); freshmen — Cheyenne Urbach (sprints), Presley Bowser (middle distance), Tatum Flesch (distance)

Outlook: The Rams’ numbers are up from eight last year to 17 this year and return their top scorer from last season in Hawkins.

South Range

Coach: Diane Krumpak, second year

Top returnees: Danielle Buzzaco, Matti Dunham, Raianne Mason, Mary Claire McCarthy, Monica Patrick, Sierra Petrella

Outlook: With 15 returning letterwinners, including six regional qualifiers, the Raiders will look to compete with defending league champion United.

Springfield

Coach: John Toy, 14th year

Top returnees: seniors — Hailey Sullivan (sprints), Jerrica Massey (sprints), Alexa Packard (middle distance/hurdles), Kristin Evans (sprints/hurdles), Amanda Newell (throws); sophomores — Shelby Sandrock (sprints/jumps), Mary Ritter (distance), Emily Tindell (sprints/jumps)

Top newcomers: sophomores — Olivia Orolan (sprints/hurdles/jumps), Makayla Colwell (throws); Ashley Butryn (sprints/jumps), Caitlin Cyrus (sprints/hurdles), Courtney Cyrus (sprints/hurdles), Cecilia Bieznieks (sprints/jumps), Brooke Bullen (sprints/hurdles), Quinn Crowe (throws), Samantha Bertin (distance/jumps), Catie Leipply (distance/jumps), Valerie Kinsey (distance/jumps), Devan Asher (distance/jumps).

Outlook: Sullivan and Massey were members of the Tigers’ state-qualifying 4x200 relay. Springfield has a good core of seniors and there’s good depth with the freshmen and sophomores.

AAC

Girard

Coach: John Spano, 40th year

Top newcomers: freshmen — Savannah Teter (jumps/throws), Domenique Hall (distance)

Outlook: The Indians return six regional qualifiers and should be strong in the running events, but field events are a weakness.

Howland

Coach: Danny Libert, first year

Outlook: The Tigers should be strong in the sprints, distance and high jump events but will need to develop their hurdlers, long jumpers and throwers.

Hubbard

Coach: Rod Greenamyer, 13th year

Top newcomers: seniors — Jenna Wise (sprints), Amanda Lopuchovsky (sprints), Kayla Zoccole (sprints); junior — Haley Grimwold (distance); sophomore — Marissa Marando (hurdles)

Outlook: Led by Bennett, a state qualifier, and two regional qualifiers, the Eagles should be strong in the sprints, relays and throws but don’t have a lot of distance depth.

Lakeview

Coach: Cindy Dickey, fourth year

Top returnees: seniors — Megan Goedeker (sprints), Kristin Palumbo (sprints); juniors — Katie Chuirazzi (sprints), Brooke Beatty (throws), Hollie Frantz (distance).

Top newcomers: seniors — Sierra Leveto (sprints/jumps), Kayla Reese (throws); juniors — Morgan Sims (middle distance/hurdles), Jayna Szwedko (distance).

Outlook: Despite losing All-Ohio sprinter Lauren Schattinger (now at Miami of Ohio), the Bulldogs have a good combination of returning veterans and talented underclassmen. Dickey likes the team’s depth and attitude.
