At least 6 people hurt when bus overturns in Texas

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Authorities say at least six people are hospitalized after a chartered bus overturned on a North Texas highway.

The crash occurred today just east of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Irving. Emergency workers are pulling passengers from emergency exits in the roof.

Las Colinas Medical Center in Irving confirms that six patients from the wreck have been transported to the facility. Details weren’t immediately available on their conditions. Hospital spokesman Tyler Adams says he believes more patients are on their way.

Video from media helicopters at the scene shows the bus tipped on its side in the center median along State Highway 161. Emergency workers are using emergency exits on top of the bus to get to passengers. Some are being wheeled to ambulances. Helicopters also are at the scene.
