Greatest Golfer 2013 dates here; Registration opens May 6

The 2013 Greatest Golfer of the Valley presented by Farmers National Bank is ready to tee off.

We will begin registrations on vindy.com beginning May 6.

We crowned 12 Greatest Golfers in 2012 from more than 500 golfers aged 12 to 74 who teed off. We have room for 600 golfers this year.

Our third Juniors installment tees off with Qualifier Play on May 25 at Pine Lakes and continuing through July at 5 other area courses — all leading to a finals match Sunday, July 28 at Trumbull Country Club.

Our adults will tee off at the end of August as usual, but with a couple of adjustments as we prep to host more than 300 players.

Super Seniors and Seniors will tee off on Tuesday, Aug. 20 and continue play on Friday, Aug. 23, with their championship round on Saturday, Aug. 24.

All other divisions will tee off Friday at Mill Creek, with tee times all day to accommodate work schedules.

Saturday play will spread out to Trumbull, Youngstown and Tippecanoe country clubs.

We are pleased to announce the addition of a fourth course to this Saturday lineup to allow more golfers to compete. Last year, we sold out of all of our tee times. We are thrilled that Oak Tree Country Club has joined our Greatest lineup.

We are excited to bring you a couple more additions that are still in the finalizing stages. Stay tuned.

Monday, June 24 at Salem Golf Club — 9 a.m.

(NOTE: The 12-14 age group will play just 9 holes at Salem event)

Friday, June 28 at Tam O’Shanter — 9 a.m. (This is a shotgun start)

Monday, July 1 at Diamondback, GIRLS qualifier — 9 a.m. start

Tuesday, July 2 at Diamondback, BOYS qualifier — 9 a.m. Start

Monday, July 8 at Tamer Win, BOYS qualifier — 9 a.m. Start

Friday, July 12 at Tamer Win, GIRLS qualifier — 9 a.m. Start

FINALS:

Sunday, July 28 at 1 p.m. At Trumbull Country Club

ADULTS PLAY

Tuesday, Aug. 20 — Greatest Golfer, Senior and Super Senior divisions opening round, Course TBD. 1 p.m. start

Friday, Aug. 23 — Greatest Golfer, all players, Mill Creek North and South courses

Tees start at 8 a.m. and at 1 p.m.

(This will be Round 2 for Seniors & Super Seniors.)

Saturday, Aug 24 — Greatest Golfer, all players, Tippe, TCC, YCC, Oak Tree

Tees start apprx 10:30 a.m. at all courses.

(This will be Championship round for Seniors & Super Seniors.)

Sunday, Aug. 25 — Greatest Finals, The Lake Club

Times start apprx 1 p.m. off of 1 & 10 tees.
